Chemical Peels

Intensively exfoliate your skin to accelerate the cell renewal process, stimulate collagen production and improve elastin fibers in the dermis. Do something wonderful for your skin. It only takes a half hour.

Chemical peeling is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin. New, regenerated skin comes to the surface to replace the skin that falls away. This new skin is smoother and more evenly pigmented, with fewer lines and wrinkles. It is generally performed on the face, neck and hands. Chemical peel options include alpha hydroxy acid (Mandelic acids), beta hydroxy acid (Salicylic acids) and may be customized to correct acne, sun damage, and oily or aging skin. Since there are many options, we always recommend a consultation with one of our professionals to help determine the right peel for your skin type, tendencies and needs.

Salicylic Peel
The Salicylic Peel is excellent for improving skin tone, minimizing fine lines and wrinkles, removing whiteheads and blackheads, blotchy pigmentation, large pores and sun-damaged skin. It is an effective exfoliating agent and can improve the appearance of skin that is affected by acne. Salicylic acid loosens and removes aging cells, oil and debris attached to the skin’s surface, stimulates new cell production and increased collagen formation and is oil soluble and lipophilic. Therefore it is able to penetrate sebum filled follicles and clean out clogged pores, which results in noticeable improvement in acne prone skin.  Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid and has anti-inflammatory properties that can help to reduce any inflammation and irritation after the use of the peel. It is ideal for oily complexions as well as people with sensitive skin.
Mandelic Peel

The Mandelic Peel is great for all skin types. It has a low irritation factor and is excellent treatment for clogged pores, acne, rosacea, pigmentation or problematic skin.

Mandelic Acid, the main ingredient of the peel is an AHA derived from bitter almonds which helps to eliminate dead skin cells, counteract excess lipids on the skin, unblock pores, break down intercellular bonds and activate skin’s natural regeneration cycle. However, it differs from glycolic and lactic acids in that its molecules are larger and do not penetrate the skin as deeply. As a result, there is less overall irritation when compared with other AHAs, which is beneficial for those who have sensitive skin that is prone to inflammation. In addition, mandelic acid has an antibacterial effect on the skin, which makes it a viable choice for those with acne-prone skin who want to have a chemical peel but are worried about clogged pores and irritation as a result. After several treatments, a mandelic acid peel can fade dark spots and reduce the inflammation caused by acne. A mandelic acid peel is also a possible choice for those who have never had a chemical peel before and want results that are gentle on the skin.

This peel is recommended for serial applications and as a companion treatment with Signature Laser Facials.
